‎SOSOCHAP Visits Uyo Correctional Facility, Donates Relief Materials and Offers Hope to Inmates

‎In a heartfelt act of compassion and community service, the South-south Change Project – Sosochap paid a humanitarian visit to the Uyo Correctional Facility on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. The visit aimed to show love, care, and support to the inmates, many of whom have been neglected or forgotten by society.
‎The delegation, led by the Global Chancellor, Pastor Jossy Ekpe, together with the Akwa Ibom State leadership, donated a variety of relief materials including foodstuffs such as garri, noddles, chewables; and medications such as pain reliefs, drugs for malaria and typhoid, etc; toiletries such as detol, disinfectants, toothpastes, paper rolls, etc; body care products such as cream, soap and clothing items. Beyond material aid, the team also shared words of encouragement, offered emotional and spiritual support, and preached the gospel of salvation, which many inmates received with joy and gratitude.

One of the high points of the visit was the organization’s pledge to legally assist some of the inmates who are awaiting trial, expressing a strong commitment to supporting their access to justice and reintegration into society. The visit ended with prayers and a renewed promise by SOSOCHAP to return with even more impactful gestures of love and advocacy.
‎The group emphasized that this visit marks only the beginning of its long-term plan to bring hope, support, and transformation to vulnerable communities, including correctional centers.
‎SOSOCHAP’s actions are a reminder that true change starts with compassion, and that every life, regardless of circumstance, deserves dignity and a second chance. It was indeed a great outing mixed with sobriety, and it ended in praise. To God be the Glory.
