SOSOCHAP Okobo Chapter Pays Courtesy Visit to Ahta Oro VIII

On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, the leadership of the Okobo Chapter of SOSOCHAP, as part of its ongoing sensitization and awareness drive, paid a courtesy visit to the Ahta Oro-in-Council, His Eminence Edidem Ita Edet Okokon VIII, and the Royal Cabinet at the Palace in Ikot Okokon Village, Atabong Clan.

The revered Ahta Oro, Paramount Ruler of Okobo Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, warmly received the delegation alongside distinguished members of the Council, including:

  • His Highness Chief Effanga Okon Emah – Village Head, Ikot Iquo

  • His Highness Chief Eso Asukwo Ita – Village Head, Ikot Ema Antai (duly represented)

  • Chief Asukwo Ibok Asukwo – Atabong Clan Council Chairman

  • Chief E. O. Emah – Atabong Clan Council Secretary

  • Madam Affiong Etim Eso – Woman Leader, Atabong Clan Council

  • Barr. Eyoh Etim Okon – Legal Adviser

  • The Clan Youth Leaders, Family Heads, and Religious Leaders

During the visit, the SOSOCHAP team paid homage to the foremost Oro Monarch and commended his unwavering commitment to peace and stability across Oro Nation—an atmosphere seen as vital for progress and sustainable development.

Representing the Global Chancellor of SOSOCHAP Worldwide, Pastor Jossy Ekpe, were Elder Eddy Bassey (Akwa Ibom State Treasurer) and Comrade Effiong O. Effiong (Okobo Chapter Coordinator). They outlined the vision, mission, and core values of SOSOCHAP, stressing the importance of sensitization, advocacy, peaceful coexistence, and humanitarian support for the vulnerable and less privileged.

They further emphasized that under the leadership of Pastor Jossy Ekpe, SOSOCHAP has expanded beyond regional boundaries with a growing network of allies and changemakers across Nigeria, Africa, and the global stage.

In his response, His Eminence, Ahta Oro VIII, commended the leadership of SOSOCHAP for their impactful initiatives toward humanity, development, empowerment, and advocacy. He assured the delegation of his royal endorsement and pledged continued support for SOSOCHAP programs that foster economic and social growth in the South-South region and Nigeria at large.

The Monarch also extended royal felicitations to Pastor Jossy Ekpe, appreciating his resilience and dedication to uplifting the downtrodden. He urged SOSOCHAP to remain steadfast in its visionary mission and expressed eagerness to personally receive the Global Chancellor, whom he described as a source of pride to his kindred.

The visit concluded with a photo session between the SOSOCHAP delegation, His Eminence the Ahta Oro VIII, and other dignitaries present.
